lyrics

L a y M y B o d y D o w n

O, I will lay my body down
by the sound of moving water
so the gurgling flow when I close my eyes
is all my ears will hear.

O, I will lay my body down
in fields of ripened colour
where swallowtail butterflies
and creatures wild and knowing
are stepping lightly to the music
of a hundred heartbeats singing.

There I will surely lay me down
in the morning of my evening
to pass my days in gratitude
with all the world just a passing hue
as if to say every lesson gained is important to all we do

O, I will lay my weary tune
in fragrant fertile valleys
where hawks are soaring overhead
and the world is vast and open;
where the winds will fill my sails
and the light pours bright and golden

There I will surely lay me down
in joy will I surrender
as the energy returns to sea
to sail the timeless splendour...
